Principal's Welcome Message

Dear Students, Parents, and Staff of Rabaul International School,

I welcome you all on board to our school as we collaboratively embark in our educational journey as we align the growth of the school with the current developments taking place here in beautiful Kokopo, East New Britain Province.

As an educational leader and institutional manager in light of my role as the school principal, it is my honour to lead this exceptional institution in our endeavor in the ongoing commitment to excellence in education. Our aim is for Rabaul International School to build our school culture and refocusing on improving standards in teaching and learning as our core business, and managing our resources and/or assets and facilities to impact our educational services as they are the important ingredients of becoming a successful school. Our school is more than just a place of learning; it is a nurturing community where students are encouraged to explore their passions, develop their talents, and become well-rounded individuals prepared to take on the challenges of the modern world.

We manage different changes for the benefit of our students’ learning. These changes are embedded in our school development plan and is based around our model of excellence and it is incorporated with a new vision, mission, and goals for the growth of the school into the future. The vision based on the fundamental beliefs and core values can be a vehicle of change for our school. Our School Leadership framework identifies three “pillars” or “leadership domains” that support the provision of an effective school. They are Leading Learning, Building Cultures and Managing our School. While each domain requires specific disciplines and independently developed skills, they are interconnected. Each is dependent upon the other for our school to be effective. Ultimately, leading learning is central to effectiveness of our school leadership and is therefore the most prominent in the success of the school.

 At Rabaul International School, we believe in fostering a safe and inclusive environment where students can excel behaviorally, academically, socially, and emotionally. We understand that every student is unique, with their own strengths, interests, and aspirations. Our regular educational programmes are complemented by additional specialist subjects taught and co-curricular activities. This includes music and coaching. Our dedicated team of educators are committed to providing a high-quality education that stimulates intellectual curiosity, promotes critical thinking, and nurtures a lifelong love of learning. We embrace a holistic approach to education, recognizing the importance of not only academic success but also personal development and character building.

We also recognize the vital role parents play in the education of their children. We encourage open communication and collaboration between home and school, understanding that a strong partnership is crucial for student success. I invite parents to actively participate in our school community, whether through parent-teacher associations, volunteering, or attending school events. Your support and involvement are invaluable in creating a vibrant and enriching educational experience for our students. As we embark on this educational journey, let us embrace the spirit of teamwork, respect, and perseverance. Together, we will create a nurturing and inspiring environment that empowers our students to become lifelong learners and competent global citizens and aspiring to be future leaders.
